Cote d'Azur, Corsica, Sardinia and the Italian Riviera

Meeting at 12:00am at the ferry port. We will board the ferry to Corsica for an afternoon cruise where hopefully we might spot a few dolphins or enjoy the ferry swimming-pool. Arrival in Corsica and transfer to our 3-star hotel for the first night on Corsica.

This stage will lead you to discover St Florent and its white sandy beaches while travelling around the Col San Stefano. You will go through the Désert des Agriates, one of Corsica's magnificent protected nature reserve. On the way there, you will get to see stunning landscapes and ride on many fantastic winding roads to the Balagne area. A small artisan road welcomes you overlooking the beautiful coast and its blue sea. A stop in Calvi is necessary to get a feel for this famous sea resort and its citadel before taking a route known as one of the most scenic in Europe. You will finally reach the Gulf of Porto for one night by the sea.

This beautiful day ride starts with a detour to cross the UNESCO Calanches de Piana. Then, the roads carries on high into the lands through the fantastic Spelunca Gorge, the Aïtone forest and the Scala Santa Regina. After a short stop in Corte, ancient capital of Corsica, you will take the road that follows the centre of the island, in its length towards Porto-Vecchio. You will stay overnight in a charming corsican village above the East coast. Wild boar is a must have in the local restauraant tonight!

Through sceneries that will remind some of you of Canada, you will soon reach the amazing town of Bonifacio, perched on its white cliffs above the Med. You will board on a ferry to Sardinia and less than an hour later, you will be riding on the West coast of Sardinia towards the fortified city of Alghero. It is time for a first italian ice cream!

You will today discover mountain villages. One of them, Orgoszolo, is famous for its wall paintings representing all the subjects you can think about. A walk in those tiny streets will be followed by a scenic ride on a beautiful road going down to the sea. You will reach your stay for the night in a lively local sea resort.

You will start the day taking a beautiful side road avoiding the highway and winding in the heart of a cork tree forest. Once in Olbia, night ferry crossing to the very active city of Genova. It is time for a last Ichnusa, the local sardinian beer.

Once on the italian mainland, you will follow the road along the famous italian Riviera. A few stops along the way will show you the beauty of the area or the excess of some very wealthy persons. After crossing the border, you will go through Monaco before reaching your last stop of the trip: Nice. End of trip at the ferry port.
