Your day by day program

1
Denver, Colorado

Upon your arrival in Miami, our guide will pick you up directly at the airport. You will meet the other group members while we head to the hotel.

Then, we will go to the city center, where we will start by tasting one of the great local specialities, the homemade beer!

You will see by yourself that it goes very well with a buffalo steak.

Spend a night at the hotel in Denver.

From Denver to Saratoga through parks and moutains

This morning we will make a first stop at the rental shop to pick up your motorcycles.

Then, we will take the road northwards through several natural parks. The beauty of the landscape's mixes with the road, and riding becomes immediately a pleasure!

Mountains, canyons, rivers, the beginning of the adventure looks good and already gives you a glimpse of what awaits you during your trip.

Our evening stopover, Saratoga, is a charming little town where we will sleep in a typical old hotel.

Approximately 340 km (5 hours' drive) -
Spend the night in Saratoga.

From Saratoga to Wind River Indian Reserve

During this stage we will take some sections of expressways, to warm up our engines a bit! Here we will cross the Wind River Indian Reserve.

The landscapes of deep America assert themselves until our destination on the outskirts of the Grand Teton National Park which is one of the most appreciated by Americans.

According to them, all the mountains would dream of being like the one in the park...

About 386 km (4 hours' drive).
Spend the night in Duboi

Grand Teton and Yellowstone

Here we go for a memorable day! A necessary passage in the park of Grand Teton will be appreciated, in order to admire these magnificent landscapes that nature offers us.

We will go up, trough the dense forests of the region, to reach the Yellowstone park considered as one of the most beautiful in the world! Of course, a stop at the Grand Canyon is planned.

The day will end with a small detour to Old Faithful, the famous geyser with impressive colors! Then we will go back to our hotel located in the western part of Yellowstone to spend the night.

Approximately 340 km (5 hours' drive).
Spend the night at the hotel in West Yellowstone.

Yellowstone Park and its bison

A beautiful day awaits us again!

Through Yellowstone Park, the route takes us past a beautiful sulfur pools where it's better to not swim! According to a few kilometers we will reach a large grazing areas where the American plains'bison live.

Without stress them out, because they are imposing and their wild character could become apparent, so we will let them cross the road to admire them. Beyond the antelopes, mountain goats and elk, we are in the bears and grizzlies territory that the luckiest will be able to see, preferably by far.

For the return trip we will take the direction of Bear Tooth, a road at more than 3000m of altitude, considered as one of the most beautiful in the world by many motorcyclists, and which is closed almost 10 months a year.

Approximately 367 km (5 hours 30 minutes' drive).

A shorter version is possible (bad weather or if the Bear Tooth is closed...) with 282 km (4 hours 20 minutes' drive).

Spend the night in Cody, at the town of Buffalo Bill.

From Cody to Sheridan via Bighorn Park

The morning will be quiet and you will be able to invest in a superb cowboy hat, and a rancher's shirt, to discover the magnificent museum of the city (weapons, wildlife, Indian history...) which will please even at those who don't like museums, test your shooting with real cowboy guns, go rafting, and go fly fishing...

Then, we will leave Cody in the early afternoon, through the plains where antelopes are increasingly numerous on the roadside.

The landscape changes and becomes more mountainous around the superb Bighorn Park, named after the bighorn sheep, that live there.

After a beautiful road in a canyon, the forest welcomes us and from turn to turn, we discover a rich fauna and a superb landscapes. The coolness is felt as we climb up to the altitude and then we go down into the plain towards Sheridan, famous for its rodeos.

And still on the footsteps of the Buffalo Bill, we will see a superb hotel which served as a base for recruiting his drama troop.

This hotel has an excellent restaurant with a bar dating back to Buffalo Bill's time.

Approximately 250 km (3 hours' drive) - Spend the night in Sheridan.

South Dakota, Devils Tower and Deadwood

We're leaving Wyoming for South Dakota. If you thought you'd seen the whole cowboy world, you'd be surprised!

The route is initially fast enough to allow us to reach the Devils' Tower, one of the natural monuments of the United States.

You will soon realize that this place has been the occasion of several movies that will come back to your memory. Many Indian tribes had close ties with this monolith, which is more than 1500m high.

Then, the road continues through beautiful scenery passing through in a magnificent canyon to Deadwood, the paradise of the Western enthusiast.

In Deadwood it will be possible to have a drink in the bar where Wild Bill Hickock was murdered, and where Calamity Jane was buried.

The downtown is full of stories about its tumultuous past of bandits and gold diggers.

Approximately 416 km (4 hours 30 minutes' drive) - Spend the night in Deadwood.

Deadwood and Mount Rushmore

We leave in the morning for a superb roads frequented by all the motorcyclists in the area, the curves follow one another in a green mountainous environment.

We enter the Park of Custer.

Some passages are tunnels dug in the rock which lead to a breathtaking landscapes, the last one is none other than the mountain where the faces of the 4 presidents have been carved.

After the visit of Mount Rushmore, back to Deadwood for a quiet afternoon to enjoy this lively city.

Visit a gold mine, the cemetery where Wild Bill Cody and Calamity Jane are buried, pass by the Saloon 10 or in one of the casinos, everything is possible...

Approximately 204 km (3 hours 40 minutes' drive) - Spend the night in Deadwood.

Crazy Horse, buffalo and mammoth...

We will again approach Mount Rushmore and its presidents and the impressive Crazy Horse Memorial.

As this step, as an option we will offer you, a helicopter ride to see these monuments from the air as well as the two hordes of bison which are frequently in the area.

Then, the road continues via Custer National Park where we will drive among the bison (avoid the red jackets!) then we will see the Wind Cave National Park renowned for its splendid caves.

Further south, we'll reach Hot Springs famous for having the largest number of mammoth bones.

Then, we continue on a road where the traffic will be calm to Rapid City.

Approximately 320 km (5 hours' drive) - Spend the night in Rapid City.

The Badlands

This loop will take us to the very heart of the Badlands, which is a beautiful park where the roads criss-cross in the middle of splendid natural wonders.

The scenery is breathtaking in this paradise which was at the time a hell for the settlers. It was indeed almost impossible to cross the Badlands and you will understand why, when you discover this maze, where the mouflons play on the highest rocks.

On the way, we'll make a stop at Wall Drug where everyone will be able to stock up on souvenirs and have a bite to eat.

Then we'll have time to stroll around Rapid City for have a drink or a dinner at the Firehouse Brewing Co. which is a former fire station converted into a bar-restaurant with its own beer and wine.

Sturgis, motorcycles and biker atmosphere!

Sturgis, the capital of bikers who like to get together and to get party. A colorful event that animates this village for a month by year.

Outside this period, it is a peaceful and pleasant town offering a lot of gadgets and souvenirs for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Its museum is worth a visit for its superb collection of pieces which contains. And its city center has some nice saloons where it will be nice to have a drink.
Then, we will take the road due the south to get closer to Denver.

Approximately 498 km (4 hours 30 minutes' drive) - Spend the night near to Laramie Fort.

Return to Denver

After visiting Fort Laramie, we will take the road to Denver.

Then, we will enjoy the homemade beer of the city which os the most produced in the United States to celebrate the end of this splendid trip.

About 295 km (3 hours' drive) - Spend the night in Denver near to the airport.
