Eat succulent local dishes in rustic trattorias and drink a real Italian cappuccino on the terrace of a café or taste a red Chianti wine in one of the region’s wine cellars. The hilltops of Lucca

Once you have arrived in Lucca, settle into your hotel and explore your surroundings. Your Vespa will be waiting for you in the heart of Lucca. Pick up the habits of the local Vespa drivers and park right at the bottom of all the nice monuments to be visited.
Then, during the first stage of the tour, you will head towards the hilltops of Lucca which culminate at 900m. Ride through enchanting little villages and stop there for a while to get a real flavor of the bella vita and to admire the majestic surrounding landscapes.

The glorious Tower of Pisa

The world-famous tower of Pisa is a must-see while in Italy, and today will be your chance to discover this surreal marble building which, against all odds, appears to defy gravity. You will also have the opportunity to explore the Piazza del Duomo otherwise known as the Piazza dei Miracoli (the Square of Miracles). Then, hop on your Vespa and head east to start climbing the Monte Pisano. Sublime panoramic views are to be admired from the heights of this glorious Italian mountain.

Heading South

Head south after leaving Lucca. You will soon discover sumptuous panoramic landscapes. Then, travel all over the countryside and visit the medieval villages in the area. Have a break, go to a café and drink a real Italian cappuccino. In the evening, go for a relaxing swim in the hotel’s swimming pool.

Sienna

After a few kilometers, you will ride through San Gimignano and speed off to the Colle di Val d’Elsa before discovering the magnificent Sienna. Park your Vespa at the city gates and explore Sienna’s old streets, museums, restaurants and, of course, the Piazza del Campo which hosts ‘Il Palio’ - a horse race that attracts many curious tourists during summer.

The picture-postcard landscapes of Tuscany

Today’s itinerary will take you to the forests and vineyards of the Tuscan countryside before stopping in the charming little town of Volterra. After visiting the Piazza dei Priori, a duomo and Roman ruins, sit down on the terrace of a delicious local restaurant and admire the Italian skyline. You will then return to your hotel via a scenic countryside road.

Back to Lucca

Hop on your Vespa and finish your itinerary with a long and enjoyable ride along countryside roads. The first part of today’s stage is particularly beautiful.
An undulating road will then take you back to the ramparts of the charming fortified town of Lucca. End today’s trip on a sweet note and eat a delicious Italian ice cream.
